Pipedrive Alternatives: Priced and Compared

A sales pipeline funnel with one segment branching away toward three alternative CRM tool cards

Search “Pipedrive alternatives” and you’ll find the same trick we documented on the HubSpot alternatives search: nearly every ranking list is written by a CRM company, and that CRM somehow always ranks first on its own list. The second-highest result on Google is a Reddit thread, which tells you how much buyers trust the vendor listicles.

Startup Yeti sells no CRM. Here is the neutral version: what Pipedrive actually costs on its current plans (most articles still cite its old, discontinued tiers), the four reasons people genuinely leave, and where they go. Every price in this article was checked on the vendor’s own pricing page in August 2026.

What Pipedrive actually costs in 2026

Pipedrive rebuilt its plan ladder recently, so start by ignoring anything that mentions “Essential” or “Advanced” plans; those no longer exist. The current tiers, per user per month on annual billing, from Pipedrive’s pricing page:

Plan Price The gate it opens
Lite $14 Pipelines, contacts, basic AI reports
Growth $39 Full email sync with tracking, automations, forecasts
Premium $59 Lead generation (LeadBooster), e-signatures, team permissions
Ultimate $79 Security rules, sandbox, phone support

Three things the sticker prices don’t say:

  1. There is no free tier. Pipedrive offers a 14-day trial, then you pay. Most of its competitors now include a genuinely usable free plan.
  2. The $14 plan is a teaser. Full two-way email sync with open tracking, the feature most sales teams consider table stakes, starts at Growth. In practice a working setup costs $39 per user, not $14. Monthly billing runs up to 42 percent higher than these annual rates.
  3. Add-ons bill on top, per company. LeadBooster from $32.50/mo, Web Visitors from $41/mo, Smart Docs from $32.50/mo, Campaigns from $13.33/mo, Projects from $16/mo. A two-person team on Growth with two add-ons can pay more for the add-ons than for the seats.

None of this makes Pipedrive a bad product. It is one of the best pure sales pipelines on the market. It does explain why the alternatives search exists.

Why people actually leave Pipedrive

  • The price creep. You join for $14, discover email sync lives at $39, then bolt on an add-on or two. The bill triples without the team growing.
  • You wanted a free tier. Solo founders and two-person teams increasingly default to tools that are free until the team grows. Pipedrive has no answer to that.
  • You need marketing in the same tool. Pipedrive is deliberately sales-only. Email campaigns are a paid add-on, and there’s no real marketing automation. Teams wanting one system for both usually move.
  • You outgrew the pipeline metaphor. Pipedrive models everything as deals in stages. Companies whose motion becomes relationship- or account-shaped eventually fight the data model.

If none of these are biting you, stay. Switching CRMs costs real time (data migration, rebuilt automations, retraining), and the honest advice for a happy Pipedrive team on a negotiated annual plan is to keep it. We covered the same math in what switching from HubSpot costs, and it applies in both directions.

Pipedrive alternatives compared

Prices are each vendor’s published rate on annual billing, checked on their own pricing pages in August 2026. Verify before committing; CRM pricing changes often.

Tool Free tier Entry paid plan Best for
Pipedrive (baseline) No, 14-day trial Lite $14/user, realistic from $39 Pure sales pipeline
Close Trial only Solo $9/user, calling + email + SMS built in Founder-led outbound
HubSpot Yes, 2 users Starter from $20/seat Free CRM that scales into marketing
Zoho CRM Yes, 3 users From €14/user Cheapest all-in-one
Attio Yes, 3 seats Plus $35/user Modern, data-shaped CRM
Brevo Yes, 5,000 emails/mo From $8/mo Email-first with CRM attached

Routing by the reason you’re leaving:

  • Leaving over the email-sync gate or add-on creep: Close. Its $9 Solo plan includes calling, email and SMS natively, the exact features Pipedrive meters. The trade: a smaller ecosystem and no free tier either.
  • Leaving because you wanted free: HubSpot Free (2 users), Zoho (free for 3 users), or Attio (free for 3 seats). A three-person team that fits Zoho’s or Attio’s free tier pays $0 a year; the same team on Pipedrive Growth pays $1,404.
  • Leaving because you need marketing too: HubSpot (with the Professional-tier cliff we documented waiting later) or Brevo, which comes at CRM from the email side at a fraction of the cost.
  • Leaving because deals-in-stages stopped fitting: Attio. Records and relationships instead of pipelines, and the free tier lets you test the model before paying.

No single “best” alternative exists, and any article that names one is usually selling it. Match the tool to the reason you’re leaving; our guide to choosing the right CRM for your startup walks the by-stage version of that call.

Pipedrive vs HubSpot: the comparison most people actually want

The most-searched head-to-head deserves a direct answer. Choose Pipedrive when sales pipeline is the entire job: it is cleaner, faster to run, and $39/user on Growth undercuts HubSpot’s $800/mo Professional cliff by a mile for a small sales team. Choose HubSpot when you want to start free and grow into marketing automation inside one tool, accepting that the free-to-paid jump is steep. The mistake is comparing Pipedrive’s paid tiers against HubSpot’s free tier; the real comparison is $39/user versus a $0 plan you will eventually outgrow, and which cliff you’d rather climb later.

The bottom line

Pipedrive is a good pipeline tool wearing a misleading entry price. Budget $39 per user for the plan you’ll actually want, add the add-ons honestly, and it remains excellent at its one job. Leave if you need free, need marketing, or feel the add-on creep; Close, HubSpot, Zoho, Attio and Brevo each solve a different version of that departure. Whichever way you go, switch once and deliberately. Like every tool decision, it should come from your pricing and packaging strategy, not from a renewal invoice.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best Pipedrive alternative?
There isn’t one best option, and lists that name one are usually published by that vendor. Choose by your reason for leaving: Close for a cheaper pure sales tool ($9/user with calling built in), HubSpot or Zoho for a free tier, Brevo for email-led marketing with CRM attached, Attio for a modern relationship-based CRM.

How much does Pipedrive cost?
On current 2026 plans, billed annually: Lite $14, Growth $39, Premium $59, and Ultimate $79 per user per month. Most teams need Growth, since full email sync and automations start there. Add-ons like LeadBooster (from $32.50/mo) and Web Visitors (from $41/mo) bill separately per company, and monthly billing costs up to 42 percent more.

Does Pipedrive have a free plan?
No. Pipedrive offers a 14-day free trial but no free tier. If free matters, HubSpot (2 users), Zoho CRM (3 users), and Attio (3 seats) all offer genuinely usable free plans.

Is Pipedrive worth it?
For a team whose entire need is a clean sales pipeline, yes, at the honest price of $39 per user for Growth rather than the $14 sticker. It stops being worth it when add-ons stack up, when you need marketing in the same system, or when a free-tier competitor covers your team size for $0.

Which is better, Pipedrive or HubSpot?
Pipedrive for a dedicated sales team that lives in the pipeline; it is simpler and far cheaper than HubSpot’s paid tiers. HubSpot for teams that want to start free and add marketing later, accepting the steep jump to Professional at $800/mo. They fail in opposite directions: Pipedrive meters features early, HubSpot cliffs late.

What does switching from Pipedrive cost?
Plan for data migration and cleanup, rebuilding every automation in the new tool, and retraining the team. For a small team the work is days, not weeks, but it is never zero, which is why switching makes sense over a real grievance like the email-sync gate, not over a few dollars per seat.
